Our Story
Our family has lived in this area since 1901. The landscape is very much like the Austrian farmland they left behind.
In Oregon, at that time, there were a few Native American folks living nearby. One of my great uncles made an ink drawing of one of the tribal members. The road that comes up to this hill top was a Native trail to reach this viewpoint where you can see, on a clear day, the coastal mountain range. It was an ideal place from which to raise a smoke signal. (This information was passed down to me from my ancestors, it is not completely verifiable, but plausible, and the ink drawing is a true portrait).
