This block print was made by carving a piece of shina plywood, rolling it with relief printing ink, and finally running it through a printing press. Each print is rolled and printed individually. I carved the block with a design I found in nature. Early in the year the filbert or hazelnut trees have these lovely catkins cascading all over the branches. 100%cotton paper(7.5”x 11”), with the image (7.75”x 5.5”),Dan Smith Relief Ink. There is also a hand colored version, each one varies a little, but are generally as similar as watercolor by hand can be.
